Bonspiels at The Chicago Curling Club
What is a bonspiel?
Bonspiels are scheduled tournaments lasting two, three or four days, consisting of 16, 24, 32, or even 40 teams, as can be accommodated. Some bonspiels are for club members only. The larger ones are open to participation by players and teams from other clubs. Bonspiels are designated as Mens, Womens, Mixed (two men and two women), or Open (any combination). They are great fun and an opportunity to meet lots of other curlers and see other clubs and cities. Our current bonspiels are as follows:
Chicago Curling Club Open Bonspiel
Join us October 10-12, 2025 in the Second City for a weekend of good curling, good food and good fun!
The Chicago Curling Club will host 28 teams for a 4-event, 3-game guarantee Chicago Open Bonspiel this fall. Registration is now open. We look forward to see you in October.
Chicago Mixed Double Dog Dare Bonspiel
Chicago's first Mixed Double CashSpiel!
Entry fee is $400 with a Cash Purse of $7,200

56th Senior Men's Bonspiel - the "Old Boys"
CCC's second longest running bonspiel will be held December 5 - 7, 2025. The 56th annual Senior Men's bonspiel, the "Old Boys", is a 3-day, 20 team event for men 55 and older with teams from around the Midwest U.S. competing in 4 events. Click here to register.
2026 Gloamin' Gaels
This is a 3-day, 16-team bonspiel being held this upcoming January 3-5, 2026. Details coming soon.
75th Men's International
A long-standing tradition, the 75th Men's International bonspiel is a 4-day, 4 game guarantee, 32 team event held January 15-18, 2026 with teams from Canada & the U.S. competing in 4 events.
39th Mixed Bonspiel
Chicago Curling Club's Mixed Bonspiel returns April 11-13, 2025. Join us for a RAD three day, three game guarantee including KICKIN' raffles, food and drink, a Mixtape contest, and a saturday night DJ playing all of the 90s hits. Register today for a HELLA good time!
Auld Lang Syne Bonspiel
Our final bonspiel of the year is being held at the end of April, just before our ice is taken out for the summer. This CCC members-only bonspiel will run from April 23 - April 27, 2025 and is a great way to get one last sweep and enjoy spring weather in Chicago. New members are encouraged to participate. Three games guaranteed!
Other Bonspiels
Chicago Curling Club members also participate in other club sponsored bonspiels. The Midwest Curling Association provides several one and two day events among various clubs promoting the sport and spirit of curling. The Chicago Curling Club also hosts a series of single and multi-day in-house events for club members only, culminating with our year-ending member only Auld Lange Syne Bonspiel in April.
