Curling & COVID-19
The Chicago Curling Club follows CDC recommendations for COVID infection and isolation and will adapt our policies as needed in order to keep members and guests healthy and safe while still enjoying our favorite sport.
CLUB MEMBERS: If you test positive, please email covid@chicagocurlingclub.org as soon as possible
Facility Changes
Our ice house is currently using its standard 4-sheet configuration. Masks are currently optional both on the ice and in the warm room.
Gameplay Changes
We have returned to normal gameplay under standard USCA rules, which includes two sweepers and no social distancing.
Cleaning supplies will be provided by the club for sanitization of equipment and rocks.
Bonspiels and Learn2Curls
Bonspiels and Learn2Curls are scheduled for the current season. Those plans, including gameplay, are subject to change based on COVID rates and potential government mandates.
Club Procedures
The club has established a committee to monitor COVID incidence rates, conduct contact tracing, and advise members of our health protocols. If you test positive, please notify the committee at covid@chicagocurling.org as well as any teammates/opponents you may have come into close contact with.
Members who test positive must isolate from the club for a minimum of 5 days and cannot return until after their symptoms subside. They are required to wear a face mask both on/off the ice until 10 days have passed since their initial symptoms or positive test date.
